Day 1 : Mumbai
After your arrival at the Chatrapati Shivaji international terminal, you will be received by our officials and then, you will be taken to the hotel where the comforts of the posh hotel is waiting for you.
Welcome to Mumbai (Bombay) the city that is the life of the country, as it is the commercial capital of India. This city once the capital of the country, never sleeps.It is said that this city is always on the move. This city has a lot of life, people here are very vibrant,lively, fun loving and hard working too. So this is Mumbai or as it is still frequently referred to as Bombay.
The most modern city in India, it captures the spirit of the changing pace set by liberalization and modernization. Once a cluster of seven islands, Mumbai was presented to King Charles II in 1661 as part of the dowry when he married Princess Catherine de Braganza of Portugal.
Mumbai has been a commercial and industrial center of India with a magnificent harbor, imposing skyscrapers, crowded thoroughfares, busy markets, shopping centers and beautiful tourist spots. This busy city is also the hub of a thriving cultural life, with a constant stream of performances in music, dance and drama. The seat of the Hindi film industry, known locally as Bollywood, it produces the largest number of films in the world. Mumbai caters to the adventurous and the romantic through its sporting activities, nightclubs, pubs, theatres, beaches and restaurants. Day 2: Mumbai
Morning begins with deliciously laid out Breakfast at the hotel.
Mumbai being the center for all commercial activities has also got a lot of places of historic importance.
First the visit to Jain temple gives the day a religious start. The temple is a monument of its own kind; built in marble in 1904, the shrine is dedicated to Adinath, the first Tirthankara or apostle. The walls of the temple are adorned with colourful paintings depicting various incidents in the lives of the 24 tirthankaras of the Jain religion. On the first floor.
is a special shrine dedicated to Parsvanath carved out of black marble& the ceiling shows the different planets as personified in Hindu mythology.
The Kamala Nehru Park and the Ferozshah Mehta Gardens known as the Hanging Gardens of Bombay and the Towers of Silence where the Parsis dispose their dead. Visit to the Mani bhavan memorial dedicated to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
He used to stay at House No.19 called Mani Bhavan, from time to time between 1917 and 1934. He was arrested here in 1932 and taken off for one of his many prison terms. The building now contains a pictorial gallery, a 20,000-volume research library, a film and recording archive and a set of diorama on the Mahatma’s life.
The Prince of Wales Museum has an excellent collection of miniatures (closed on Mondays).
After a good travel in the city to all the places of tourist interest, afternoon is at leisure (No vehicle at disposal). Overnight stay at Mumbai.
Day 3: Mumbai - Nagpur - Kanha National Park
Day 3 starts with a gain a journey from the hotel to the airport moving towards Nagpur and Kanha. Aboard flight (9W 111: 0710 / 0825 hrs) to Nagpur.On arrival at the airport, you are received by our officials specially there to welcome you and take you to Kanha which is around (275 kms / 7 hrs) from the airport.
The Kanha National Park, in Madhya Pradesh, forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve created in 1974, under Project Tiger. Stretching over 940 sq km, the vegetation, chiefly made of sal and bamboo forests, grasslands and streams; this park is the sole habitat of the rare hard ground barasingha.
The forests of the Banjar valley and Halon valley, respectively forming Kanha’s western and eastern halves, had even, at the turn of the century, been famous for their deer and tiger population. By a special statute in 1955, Kanha National Park came into being. Since then, a string of stringent conservation programmes have been launched, for the overall protection of the park’s fauna and flora. It is one of the most well maintained National Parks in Asia, and a major attraction for avid wildlife buffs all over the world.
The setting of Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’, it is a beautiful area of forest and lightly wooded grassland with many streams and rivers. It is the home of a variety of animals including tiger, panther, and many species of deer, wild pig, bison, a variety of monkeys and other animals besides some 200 species of birds. It is also part of ‘Project Tiger,’ one of India’s most important and successful conservation efforts. Overnight at the Wildlife Resort.
Day 4: Kanha National Park
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Lodge. A day full of adventure and excitement. Yes, folks that’s what day 4 is all about. Game drives are organized by The Park both in the early mornings and late afternoons by open jeeps and will be accompanied by a trained naturalist.
These naturalists are professional who make sure that you get the best out of the tour. Once the tiger is spotted anywhere in the jungle, through radio contact with the drivers, visitors will be driven to the location and then taken by elephant back to the actual site to see the tiger. This is an excellent arrangement and is very exciting. When the night falls, you are brought back to the hotel and the comforts of the hotel take over from there to help you get rid of the fatigue throughout the day. The sumptuous food and the modern amenities of the hotel take care of you as you call it a day.
Day 5: Kanha National Park
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Lodge. The next morning at the Kanha.
national park also is spent indulging in game drives to the sanctuary.The night is spent in the resort where you have all the modern day amenities to your discreation to relax and chill out.
Day 6: Kanha National Park - Bandhavgarh National Park
The day begins with a good and healthy breakfast at the lodge. A drive down to Bandhavgarh is of 250 kms. On arrival all the visitors are checked in at the resort. This is a small National Park; compact, yet full of game. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India. White Tiger country, they were found only here in the Wild about 60 years back. Maharaja Martand Singh captured the last known in 1951. This White tiger, Mohan, is now stuffed and on display in the Palace of the Maharajas of Rewa.
Bandhavgarh is densely populated with other species: sambar and barking deer are a common sight and nilgai are to be seen in the more open areas of the park, wild boar, jackal, barking deer, sloth bear, and an occasional Wolf or a pack of Wild Dogs are good sights to see and behold. As the night falls, you come back to the tiger den resort to take a shower and chill out with the delicious food of the resort and retire to the comforts of your room to call it quits for the day.
Day 7: Bandhavgarh National Park
The game drives carry on the next day too and the tiger is spotted in the forest. It is due to the efforts of the forest department and the technology that has helped them come up with a breakthrough devise of tracking the big cat. Every day, early in the morning, elephants and their “Mahouts” (drivers) are sent out into the jungle, in search of the Tiger.
Once it has been sighted, a radio message is flashed to the Forest Ranger, who in turn informs the visitors in their jeeps, who are then taken on elephant-back, into the bush, to see the elusive Tiger.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Lodge. An evening at the Tiger’s Den Resort in Bandhavgarh is a mind-blowing experience.
Day 8: Bandhavgarh National Park
Day after day after day the jungle has had its magic on the visitors who every morning take a plunge into the forest to discover the undiscovered and capture those beautiful moments with the big cat. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Lodge. As the sunsets and the evening draws near a night at the park is an experience of a lifetime. There are other recreational activities that take place to provide entertainment to the visitors.
Day 9: Bandhavgarh National Park
As the 9th day begins and also ends with the tours into the jungle. The visitors get ready for the next travel plan of their trip on the 10th day. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Lodge.
Day 10: Bandhavgarh National Park - Umaria - Agra
The morning wake up call, morning safari, delicious breakfast and lunch to be relished before moving out of Bandhavgarh national park. After evening drive and early dinner drive to Umaria railway station (32 Kms) to board Kalinga Utkal Express to Agra.
The scheduled departure of the train is at 2015 hrs. Overnight journey in the train, enjoying the rustic beauty of India before reaching the wonderland of the TAJ-Agra.
Day 11: Arrive Agra at 1000hrs.
After arriving at the airport, you are given a grand welcome by our officials who take you to the hotel. So you are in Agra now and the first thing that comes to one’s mind upon arrival is the Taj Mahal. On arrival at Agra the visitors are checked in to the hotel. A experience on the elephant back in the national Park and now on a decorated Tonga (horse carriage) which will take you to Taj Mahal. Little needs to be said about this architectural wonder, which is always the soul raison-de-etre for every tourist’s visit to Agra. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal.
This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen.
The Taj Mahal amidst sunset will be a moment to capture, to see this true Wonder of the world in gentle late afternoon light. After Lunch proceed to see the Agra Fort, Sikandra and then drive to Fatehpur Sikri – Oh, what a marvel of human hands! Among the various fascinating monuments inside this royal city the Panch Mahal, or Palace of Five Storeys, and the Buland Darwaza, the massive gate, which provides entrance to the complex, stunned me. You may not be a connoisseur of art, but you still can go on to say that the beauty and the Corinthian grace of Fatehpur Sikri is unsurpassable- not even by the Taj.
Day 12: Agra - Delhi
After early breakfast drive to New Delhi, 4 hours drive, 225kms.
Last place to visit on the last day will be the Capital of India, with a history that dates back to 3000 years, lot of monuments, world heritage sites, lush green gardens and busy streets.
The great Red fort on the banks of Jamuna, built by Shahjahan as the citadel of the seventh Delhi founded by him, then known as Shahjahanabad and now old Delhi, is a significant link between the past and the present, for it is from here that the prime minister of India addresses the people on the Independence Day, which is August 15th.
The largest of Old Delhi’s monuments is Lal Quila or Red Fort whose thick red sandstone walls, bulging with turrets and bastions, have withstood the vagaries of time and nature. The Lal Quila rises above a wide dry moat in the northeast corner of the original city of Shahjahanabad. Its walls extend from two kilometers and vary in height from 18 meters on the riverside to 33 meters on the city side.
As the trip comes to an end. After dinner drive to the International Airport to board the flight back home.
