Delhi – the capital of India, is a fascinating city with complexities and contradictions, beauty and dynamism, where the past co-exists with the present. Many dynasties ruled from here and the city is rich in the architecture of its monuments. Delhi- the commercial hub has many tourist attractions to offer. Visit vibrant shopping complex of Connaught Place, Delhi Haat for handicraft goods and delicious food bonanza. Pay a visit to Red Fort and Qutub Minar to view the excellence of Mughal architecture.
Or just drop in at Janpath- for buying a variety of cheap and best items. If you are looking for spiritual peace, visit Lotus temple, which is also famous for its marvelous architecture and heavenly beauty. Take a stroll at Rajpath. Or pay a visit to India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhawan for viewing monuments made during British era.
An overnight halt at Delhi also takes in to the kind of nightlife Delihites enjoy.
The day 2 begins with the tour of the city. The places of interest are Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Lotus Temple, Jama Masjid and the like. The banks of the Yamuna River laid out The Red Fort, with a circumference of over 2.2 kilometers, in the 17th century. The Mughal emperor Shajahan built it with the ambition of concentrating the Mughal power in one monument. Monument is perhaps not the right word. A mini-city is more like it.
It is situated in the old Delhi. A rickshaw ride would be an experience to savor, through the back streets of Old Delhi to get a first hand experience of the hustle and bustle of this traditional city. This ride through the small by-lanes will be most fascinating.
The Bahai temple represents the Bahai faith which is broad in its outlook, scientific in the influence it exerts on the hearts and minds of men. It signifies the purity and the universality of the lord and equality of all religions. Visited by over four million people, annually, this gleaming lotus- like marble structure is located on Bahapur Hills (South Delhi) and it is the seventh and most recent Bahai houses of worship in the world. The temple is a must visit for every tourist who comes to Delhi.
Lastly after discovering all the historical places in the periphery of old Delhi. We start moving towards the tallest tower of, Qutab minar. The highest stone tower in India, the Qutub Minar was built by Qutbuddin Aibak, the viceroy of Mohammed Ghori in 1192. It was built to celebrate Ghori’s victory over the Rajputs. The tower and the victory are very significant, because both heralded the birth of a new dynasty – Slave Dynasty. And it laid the foundations of the Delhi Sultanate. And the rest, as one would put it after witnessing this monumental tower, was history.
While driving back to the hotel you are also taken past the Rashtrapathi Bhawan, the residence of the President of India, the houses of Parliament and the Government Secretariat buildings.
The second day also we spend the night.
We start the 3rd day with the drive to the pink city of Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan. 275kms drive which takes about 5 hours. Jaipur is the hub of all architectural buildings built by kings in the old days. During your visit to this wonderful city we will make sure that you don’t miss out anything worth seeing. Jaipur is a romantic destination where you can enjoy a honeymoon tour in Rajasthan India. See beautiful palaces and grand forts where Rajput queens and warriors resided in days gone by. Feel like royalty from yesteryears on honeymoon tours of Jaipur. See the cultural attractions, heritage monuments and shop for clothes, jewelry, handicraft items and ethnic crafts in the markets of Jaipur on our Jaipur honeymoon tours.
Overnight halt at Jaipur.
All your wishes come true as we move towards completing our excursions in the city of Jaipur. Excursion to Amber Fort with Elephant rides up to the Fort. Drive past the Hawa Mahal, known popularly as the Palace of Winds, is a facade built for the Ladies of the Royal household in the 19th century. The Amber Fort, the capital of the erstwhile State of Jaipur until 1728 is perched on a hill. It has halls of Public and Private audience, a Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors) various marble palaces which are marvelous examples of ancient Rajput architecture. The Temple of Amba (Mother Goddess), the patron deity of the Royal family is at the entrance to the palace. Ride an elephant to ascend the hill on which the Fort is situated.
After the first half of the day, we plan the visit for the city tour visiting the City Palace – the former royal residence built in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal styles which houses a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes and armory of the Mughals and Rajputs, including swords of different shapes and sizes with ornate handles. It has an art gallery with an excellent collection of miniature paintings, carpets, royal paraphernalia and rare astronomical works in Arabic, Persian, Latin and Sanskrit. Also visit the Jantar Mantar – an astrological and astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century, which is remarkable for its accuracy even in the present times. The night brings an end to our stay at Jaipur, as we get ready for the next day where we move towards the national park of Ranthambore.
180kms drive which takes about 4 hours.
Ranthambore situated in the same state of Rajasthan. On arrival at Ranthambore the guests are checked in at the Hotel.
Ranthambore is one of the many famous destinations of the western state of India, Rajasthan. Generally a visit to Ranthambore means a visit to the tiger reserve here. However, the place has much more to offer you in sightseeing and excursions.
Ranthambore used to be the hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Later it was declared as a game sanctuary in 1955. In 1980, it was declared as a national park and listed among the reserves protected under Project Tiger. Ranthambore is also considered to be the best place in the world to photograph the tiger in its natural habitat. In Ranthambore you can indulge in any of the adventurous activities that the park offers. A Jeep Safari, a cultural and traditional experience of the Meena tribes. Fatehpur Sikri – This exquisite city built by Akbar the Great in 1569, in red sandstone, with its forts, palaces and mosques was abandoned 14 years after its creation due to political reasons. The Diwan-i-am – a vast courtyard in which the emperor gave daily public audience; Diwan-i-khas – a large quadrangle which contained all the major functions of the Palace, Pachisi court, the Emperors private living quarter, Jodha Bhai’s Palace, Mariam’s Palace, Birbal’s Palace, Hawa Mahal and Panch Mahal are some of the important buildings of this residential complex. The Friday Mosque and the exquisite tomb of Sheik Salim Chisti are in the religious grounds set aside in a separate enclosure adjacent to the secular buildings.
Agra, with its laid -back lifestyle and its immense wealth of architecture, handicrafts and jewelry, is amongst the most remarkable city of the world. In terms of ambience it is still associated with its Mughal period led by Babur, who arrived in 1526. Agra grew in prominence as almost all of India came under the rule of Mughal empire but Agra reached its zenith under the rule of Akbar,Shah Jehan and Jehangir. It was under the rule of Akbar that Agra become a leading center of art, science, commerce and culture.
