About Tiger Safari India

Sharad’s life was altered by a tiger sighting in 1990 at Ranthambhore National Park. When he considered protecting the tigers, he began to consider what he might do to support tiger conservation. He understood that, due to a lack of resources, the local community relied on the trees for bio-mass.

After several restless nights, the idea of creating jobs and raising the local community’s cash flow, which depended on the forests for bio-mass, into the mind. And what better weapon to bring about change in the region surrounding the national parks than “tourism”? “Conservation Through Tourism” became the catchphrase. It was then a matter of months that the revenue started to flow in the area. Over the last three decades, we have successfully conducted close to 30000 Tiger safaris in different national parks of India.

Our CSR Initiative

For us, the term “CSR” stands for “Conscious Sustainable Responsibility,” which is crucial if we are to have any chance of saving our forests and the creatures that call them home. The advantages animals may provide to the local community have a direct bearing on its future. We support a two-pronged strategy:

Community-based conservation program

Our safaris use local guides and crew. They get valuable knowledge about the jungle, its people, and the delicate balance necessary for coexistence between man and the wild. Additionally, a consistent income guarantees that they rely less on the forest, which prevents encroachment.

Funding wildlife conservation

Some people and non-profit groups are working incredibly hard to raise awareness of the need to protect different species and to encourage residents to take action. We have teamed up to support the funding of two such initiatives:

Kanha Bhoor Singh School in Mukki

Using interactive storytelling and sing-along songs, this special learning environment teaches young children who work for the forest department as well as youngsters from the adjacent villages.

Waste Warriors, a non-profit organization

Controlling solid trash and educating communities in 150 villages near Corbett National Park. Find out more about the Waste Warriors here.
